NPCF at Gr8 Day 2 Play – A Fantastic Community Event
On Saturday, 22nd February 2025, we attended the Gr8 Day 2 Play event at East Ham Leisure Centre. Gr8 Day 2 Play was organised by Newham Council, in collaboration with Active Newham, Newham Health and Wellbeing, and other local organisations. We had an information stall at the event, and it was a great opportunity to meet and chat with parents and carers in the community.
We spoke to several parents and carers of SEND children, explaining who we are, what we do, and the benefits of becoming an NPCF member. Many were keen to join after learning about how we support families, provide useful resources, and give parents a platform to have their voices heard.
The event was well attended, with a lively and welcoming atmosphere. There were various activities throughout the day, including Zumba, martial arts, spin classes, creative arts, and more. It was great to see families enjoying themselves while also accessing support from the different services available.
Aside from speaking with parents, we also networked with other service providers, including The Better Team, Nutrition Kitchen Newham, and The 5Es. Events like these are a fantastic way to build connections and strengthen the support available to families in Newham.
Overall, it was a really positive experience, and we look forward to attending more community events like this in the future. If you’re a parent or carer of a SEND child and want to learn more about NPCF, feel free to get in touch—we’d love for you to join us!
