- We are an independent group of parents in Newham.
- All of us have a child with special needs, with different levels of severity to profound complex needs, to children with or without a statement or ` Health Care plans.
- We know that children’s needs and circumstances can be very different, but some of the issues affect us all e.g. assessments and services.
- We are committed to giving a voice to all parents and careers of children with additional needs in Newham.
- We believe that parents and carers are stronger when they work together to achieve good outcomes for all our children and young people and their families.
- To help improve the lives of children and young people with Special Educational Needs and/or disabilities and their families.
- Creating a safe space where parents and carers can share their experiences and support each other;
- Helping to bridge the barriers between Local Authority and SEND Families by encouraging co-production with send families and involving families in processes by services providers;
- Creating opportunities for parents and carers to influence the decisions that affect their families, by contributing to the development of services which should meet the needs of their families;
- Raising awareness of the issues faced by Children and Young People with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities and their families;
- Sharing information to empower parents/carers about the services and provisions available to them
- Sharing experiences, knowledge and skills with other relevant organisations and individuals.
